Silver medal for C + P
In October, C + P was awarded the silver medal for sustainable practices by the internationally renowned rating agency “EcoVadis”, placing it among the top 14 percent of all furniture manufacturers assessed worldwide.
This evaluation followed an intensive and rigorous assessment of the areas “Environment”, “Labor and Human Rights”, “Ethics” and “Sustainable Procurement”, conducted according to internationally recognized sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000).

Ecological and social responsibility
Taking responsibility for nature and society
Awareness of our environment has increased in recent years. Sustainability has always played a central role at CHRISTMANN + PFEIFER. As a company that leads by example, we see it as our duty to operate sustainably and take on social responsibility. Our goal is to protect both the environment and future generations.
Responsible family business
People are at the center of C + P – as a family business with tradition, we focus on sustainable relationships. We take responsibility by acting in a socially and environmentally conscious way. Our employees are the foundation of our business success, which is why we address their needs in a values-oriented, fair and respectful manner. Sustainable growth is as important to us as maintaining long-term relationships with our customers. Our holistic and future-oriented approach enables us to design solutions that meet the long-term needs of our customers for enhanced sustainability.
Steel – Recyclable material
For nearly 100 years, we have relied on recyclable steel as a producer of furnishing and storage solutions. Steel is a natural ecological material and is 100% recyclable. Steel can be melted down repeatedly without any loss of quality. In Germany, almost half of all steel is produced from this “secondary raw material”. That cuts down the energy needs in production – also considerably reducing CO2 emissions. Energy is also saved during transport. Since steel furniture is lighter than conventional wooden furniture, energy consumption is significantly reduced.
Durable products
Steel furniture is particularly long-lasting. For example, a C + P locker is typically used for at least 30 to 40 years before it can be returned to the material cycle. By maximizing the lifespan of our products, we take a clear stand against the throwaway culture prevalent in many societies today.
Eco-friendly dip coating process
C + P is the first company worldwide to use a solvent-free dip coating process in serial production. This coating process is not only emission-free – the solvent-free paint can also be applied at a lower power level. This method saves energy.
Avoiding packaging materials
With in-house logistics, C + P can deliver the majority of orders fully assembled and without packaging. This significantly reduces unnecessary waste.
